basically from watching the clip of Haruhi singing "God Knows" from AMV Hell 3 the scene looked cool, I didn't know what the song actually was but I was expecting an Anime about a Music club, and went searching for it.
What I found was a hilariously Awesome anime that defies all attempts to pigeon hole it into our inferior human concepts of Genre, plus the Les Yay scene where Haruhi bites Hikuru's ear was hilarious that was vaguely Scifi + Fantasy + Slice of Life + Action Adventure.
So then browsing TV tropes I found out that there's apparently a flame war between the fanbase of Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and another show called K-On! Which I expected to be a show with a similar premise expecting it to be similar.
What I got was what I originally expected out of Haruhi, a slice of life show about high schoolers with a music club.

Basicially its a matter of expectations, I watched anime A expecting B, and when B came around I watched it expecting A but got B which I originally wanted and pleasantly surprised.
