On the exam I overwrote the essay and had to use about 2 and a half booklets to fully answer. [Cool]

Congratulations on the good grade, but you might want to see if anyone got an 'A' while being more concise.

Congratulations, Blayne!

About the essay: I used to "overwrite" as you say, all the time. However, as long as I was relevant all the way through, I don't think I ever lost marks for writing more rather than less.

As far as I can tell, Professors are more interested in what you write than how much you write, unless it's ridiculous. If you're writing a fabulous essay that happens to be 2 and a half booklets long, then it's a fabulous essay that's 2 and a half booklets long.

The key is for the essay to be fabuous [Razz] .

Then you should change the title of the thread.

But congratulations Blayne!

As I only had 2-3 things that give marks

Participation: 15%
Midterm: Something
Final: Something

I was there 95% of the time so I'm assuming that if I got 67% on my midterm (for runon sentances) I probably got 85ish+ on my final.

Should I ask for feedback to see what I got right/wrong?

I would. Feedback is important to learning in general. Most of my teachers made arrangements to give back final essays after the course had been graded, so I could see their responses.

I got a B+ once, in the first quarter of the dang stat-mech class. [Frown] That stuff really kicks my ass. I managed to drag my way up to A- by the second quarter, and then to forget all about it after the qualifying exam.
