My brother got that surgery a decade ago, and even though he was still (and therefore more resiliant) he was congenitally a high risk cardiac patient and came through with flying colors. I know for a fact that our technology is so advanced from the tools they used with him that I can say your mother is in safe hands.
Good luck sneaking in real food to her afterwards!

It is usually a very safe procedure, and you have my hopes and prayers that she will have a safe procedure and come out better than new.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm going to be a nervous wreck tomorrow. The surgery happens at 7 A.M. Mountain time.
