"Commandyr, large support fleet just warped in."
"Were you detected?"
"Nyt."
"Good. Dragon Fleet, you may enter the field."
"Jumping in now. Do you have a primary target."
"Just burn them all. This system belongs to us."
"Da, Commander."

Okay now for elaboration, i went for about a month or so break and had the problem where my corp went inactive and the corp was kicked, leaving me stranded in 0.0 when I came back, so I handed it to my friends account (CEOship) grabbed the 30mil isk or so in remaining corp funds left the corp and joined a corp in the alliance I was previous in in that section of space.

I figure that until I know I can be active 100% I should put my 0.0 sov holding ceo ambitions on hold until A) I double my skillpoints from the roughly 27 million I have now to around 50 to 60 million, although I think 35-40 might be sufficient, enough to fly any mono race ship and have other important logistics and industrial skills up to decent levels.

Also importantly isk, I need isk, its embarassing to be a ceo and be the poorest one. So with this I hope to gain experiance and see where the solar winds take me.

Right now my corp is Shadows of the requim (SOTR) in the Eternus Imperium Alliance, we just engaged Wildly Inappropriate of the Northern Coalition in Sov Warfare in anticipation to the changes in Dominion in conjunction with our own coalition of greedy alliances to take Geminate for ourselves.

Hail Victory!

I can't believe I'm actually willingly entering a Blayne thread... but I recently started playing EVE myself. I'm in ISBBC and will be going to Cold Steel with my brother and dad when I get more experienced.

So, tldr, what in your opinion do I have to most look forward to when Dominion comes out next week?

Whats tldr mean?

When Dominion comes out it means a massive change in sov mechanics that still somewhat favors the behavior but now it isn't about the siege warfare in trenches anymore via pos bashing.

Also included is instead of current sov there's 3 indexes, development, industry, and strategic which now determine the overall "sovereignty", now this essentially rebalances 0.0 so that there's nolonger any real "useless" regions which due to the randomly generated galaxy meant two regions in aprticular Providence and Geminate were relatively 'useless' due to their low true sec level of their systems meaning that certain asteroids say arkonor and bistot weren't availiable and the plexes and rats were crap.

Now depending on activity and other new implements its possible to develop the region so it gives more/better wealth, this will have a pretty major effect on the merchant rp alliances that were originally safe because no one was willing to fight for their useless dirt and were content with roaming gangs to mess them up.

Since Sov is now partially tied to activity it means the probably death to the big "afk" blobs that had large stretches of territory but only major activity in a part of it giving much more oppurtunity for smaller alliances to grab a slice.

tldr = too long didn't read

While I'm not in zero space yet, I'm glad to see it's going to rebalance. My brother recently hit zero and he said it's been a complete ISK suck and overwhelming. And he's been playing for over a year, so for him to say that he's overwhelmed means it must be nasty.

I've roamed in lowsec a bit, both solo and with my corp, but have only ever been to 0.0 via wormhole or on Sisi. I plan to get there someday -- I've got the skills on the character, just not the mindset and skills on my actual person yet, I don't think. As it is, I mostly just run level 4's every so often. It keeps me with enough isk to buy new ships every so often, though admittedly right now I'm pimping out a Tengu as my mission runner. Arguably a waste of isk since I can already easily solo all the L4's including AE4 bonus room and WC4 as well, but.... it makes me happy [Razz]

What with the sov changes, my corp's actually looking at heading out and trying to claim a system and see what we can do with it. Time will tell.

Okay, I'm not feeling like this was much of an upgrade. I can't voicechat with my corp or family without major problems. Text chat is extremely laggy and if I hit the enter key to send while it's still catching up to me, the enter becomes a new line instead of transmitting. Session changes are taking almost as long as they did while I was running on a half gig of system memory... around 30 seconds just to undock. And I have several windows that resized on me and I can't restore to my settings.

Oh yeah, and it seems to be ignoring my escape-menu settings as well. Minor gripe here, but background audio cuts out when my dad *can* get through on chat, and I have it specifically set to not do that. And what's with the radio chatter mess in open space? Yuck.

Don't use ingame voice, use ventrilo or teamspeak.

text chat isnt laggy for me.

enter does transmit for me so its probably client side settings.

session changes take 5 seconds for me.

Takes roughly 15 seconds for me.

Theres a way to change the size of windows.

The radio chatter mess can be turned down or off via escape menu sound settings its meant to add flavor to the game.

They *did* state they were increasing the minimum system requirements. You probably need to clear your cache and restart the game to get settings to work.

The upgrade is mostly around rebalancing ships and changing the mechanics of sov warfare.
