Nope, but I don't think I'll achieve my goal anyway, considering there's no way to fill the page now that other threads have popped up. So it's moot.

I figured that if I did it fast enough it would work, but as I said in the Monkey's Paw thread, flood control prevented that.

In any case, I certainly expected that all the active threads would get bumped back to the first page in short order.

How could you possibly think that was a good idea?

So your goal is, what, to end real discussion on Hatrack and flood the system with spam? I understand a lot of people are upset about the decline in civility, but this is more obnoxious still. I don't have any authority to tell you to knock it off, but I can certainly offer it as advice, and I do.

I wasn't worried about whether is was a good idea. It was the only way I could think of to respond accordingly to the Monkey Paw game.

Just silliness. Does it really represent a problem of some sort?

Ah. I figured there had to be some context I was missing. It's a cute idea in theory, but in practice it really is obnoxious and, I believe, constitutes spamming the board. I'm all for fluff threads, but not a whole string of empty ones just to drive the real discussions off the front page.

I would say that it is still possible ot achieve the goal if you wait for the forum to let you start creating new threads, then bump all the old fluff threads.

not that I would reccomend it [Wink]

Well, like I said, I expect the real threads to get bumped in short order.

Lol, now that I see the context, that's actually completely harmless, rather amusing and entirely appropriate. I see nothing wrong with it.

Nice job Glen, you almost granted it!

Only if you don't delete about twenty of those threads.

I don't see that it really does. Although Rabbit's post acheived the goal quite effectively.

I think it was approximately as obnoxious (well, to be more accurate, 7 times as obnoxios) as the "high quality thread", "medium quality thread" and "low quality thread" that were posted a few months ago, in which people mostly posted "I am posting in this high quality thread!"

Actually, it was a good thing I didn't think of this, because having done it there would be no way to undo it.

Guilty. I guess I should take the old adage more seriously and be careful what I wish for.
