"I think poor churches are better than rich churches."
Curious I asked, "Why is that."
He thought for a moment, I think to get his words in order for what he wanted to say. "Poor churches spend more time praying than spending money. Rich churches spend more time spending money than praying."

I think it depends on the church; what is outside isn't always indicative of what is inside the hearts of the people who attend.

I think it's a nice thought. But spending money takes so little time, really.

I'm willing to put your money where my mouth is, too. Let me know if you need my address to send a check.

No doubt. But probably not well, in pieces, most effectively, or most fairly, to help the greatest number.

Reminds me a similar line of logic, "Poor casinos spend more time paying out than taking money. Rich casinos spend more time taking money than paying out" which ends up with similar problems.

Cool kid. Although, personally, I prefer that churches spend more time caring for the poor and oppressed than they spend praying.
That doesn't necessarily correlate with how rich the church is, but whether or not spending money is good thing for churches to do really does depend on how they are spending it.

Sasha usually goes to Church A. It is not a poor church by any means, but has a very strong push for evangelism, lots of music and long services.
A couple of weeks ago the boy scouts in his troop had "Church Day." So he went to Church B to participate. Church B while not really wealthier, was less robust in their service, had a formal choir, and a lot more ritual. It was also less musical and more boring.
He came up with this gem while looking at the fancier facade of Church B.
