Southeastern US battling very dangerous storms today - everyone please stay safe if you are in the path. I will be in a few more hours. Watching the news now and they are very afraid of severe damage and loss of life in Yazoo City, MS and surrounding area.

Heh. We're in the 'eye' of the storm here in northern Kansas, currently. Winds are calm or variable across this part of the state, while in the west, they're gusting to 40 knots or more. As the storm pushes east (or northeast), our winds are going to pick up again. This is quite a potent storm system.

Seems the threat is lessening for Alabama but is not over yet. Confirmed two dead so far in MS with many injuries and destruction of property.

We're all fine now...about to watch Avatar and pop some popcorn. [Smile] I will however, keep my computer tuned to the weather updates during the movie.

Oh, that's where that storm came from this morning. The dog woke me up about 6 freaking out about the lightning. I have to admit, some of the thunder was fairly impressive.

We have a tornado warning today from this storm system blowing though FL, but it is further north than where I am (on a hospice case), and from when my house is (where JenniK is with our 2 dogs), so we should be fine.
