I just found out the shortcut for Show Desktop!

(Windows Key + D)

I thought I would share the beauty, imagination, and power of this little trick with those who are not aware.

There is a prankster in my office. As a result, our entire office has learned the shortcut for locking a desktop.

Windows Key + F7
Edit: Should be Windows + L (Thanks Rivka!)

That's probably my most used shortcut, along with CTRL+ALT+DEL to log back in. I use this religiously, when I get up from a computer.

Windows Key + F7

Why wouldn't you just use Windows Key + L?

Like that's an excuse. [Wink]

We're required to lock our desktops when we step away from them, so I know that key combination pretty well.

I still do CTRL-ALT-DELETE, then ENTER.

I don't use the Windows key. Ever.

A matter of principle? The key annoys the heck out of me when I play some games, since it's right next to the control key. I'd just as soon not have a windows key on my home computer.

You can always take it out.

I did that with my CAPS LOCK key -- I was always hitting it on accident, it was by far a net liability.

Because I've been using computers well before the Windows key even existed.

Old habits, I guess.

So have I. In fact, I used to consider the key absolutely useless.

I've come around. [Wink]
