...in NBA Jam

quote:
Continuing a tradition set by the original versions of NBA Jam, which included political figures like Bill Clinton and Prince Charles, EA's latest game in the franchise will feature some more contemporary characters, like President Barack Obama and Sarah Palin.

They're just the start, though; the American political spectrum is being represented in force with actual teams based on the Republican and Democratic parties, the former starring George W Bush, John McCain, Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin, the latter both Clintons, Al Gore, Joe Biden and President Obama.

These characters aren't there to make up the numbers, either; they're as fully-realised as the actual NBA players in the game, both teams with their own uniforms and home courts, each player packing unique facial expressions based on actual photographs. Dick Cheney, for example, has a "Darth Vader snarl".

Reports so far indicate that these characters will only be available with the Wii version of the game; we'll update if we hear about the 360 and PS3 versions.

Story on ESPN.com

quote:
EA Sports' new "NBA Jam" game for the Wii is about to top them all, however, as in addition to a hidden team of Beastie Boys, there is an unlockable team of Democrats, featuring President Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Al Gore, as well as a team of Republicans that includes George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, John McCain and Dick Cheney.

PSI, I can even hear the exact voice. That will now be your voice in my head whenever I read your posts. Which is actually pretty cool.

I kind of hope that Cheney is an LVAD-powered basketball cyborg monster with insane stats.

That was the secret hope of everyone who voted for a second Bush term, I believe.

Look, say whatever you want about Cheney, but the fact is: he shot a lawyer. In the face.

That kind of ardent defense of American values is hard to not admire.

Shot a lawyer in the face AND had the lawyer apologize for getting in the way.
Quality use of the Force.

Sounds like a fun game but you have to fill out 1099-Z form if you buy it.
