It's that time of the year again. While we have not had a gift exchange every year, I felt that it'd be nice if we could do one again.
If you would be interested in participating in this years gift exchange, post in this thread. There will be other threads down the road where people can post their preferences/wish lists for gifts.
Papa Janitor has also made me aware of certain posters who may be willing to organize the event this year. If you wish to help organize it please PM me through the forums, and we will work out a system. If nobody wishes to step forward this year, I would be happy to shoulder the responsibility.
Does a maximum limit of $30 per gift sound fair to everybody? Breyerchic also introduced a rule which I think is a good one, namely, "This year you need to have 100 posts or an established member to vouch for you" if you wish to participate. I'd also like to strongly admonish that if you wish to join the exchange please give as enthusiastically as you receive. Getting somebody a gift can be difficult, and I am certain we make more trips to Gmail than we do to the post office, but be mature about this. If you sign on for the gift exchange you are also saying that you will not need to be hassled to get and send your gift to the poster you are assigned to.
The poster you will be giving to and receiving from is of course totally anonymous until the gifts have been sent out, and people start announcing what they got and who sent it.
The gift exchange here has always been a positive experience for me, and I have loved both giving and being given what I have each time it is run. I truly hope to hear from as many people as possible.

Hrmmm. I'd like to participate, but I think living outside the US places some restrictions on what can be easily gifted to me. Can I sign up with the understanding that I don't receive a physical gift because of the cost? I can still send one by ordering online, but most Hatrackers don't speak Czech, so they can't online shop in my country.

Orincoro, perhaps if there are charities that you enthusiastically support, you could request people make a donation in lieu of sending a physical gift? Just a suggestion. I hate you to miss the fun of receiving a physical gift however. Posts: 14428 | Registered: Aug 2001

In about a weeks time, I'll post a thread where people can put their preferences for gifts. There will be a cutoff for signups, but I have not yet determined what that date will be. I can't imagine it would be far from the end of November.
