But that was Yesterday

This is by the guy who did Together, which people here didn't seem too crazy about. I would not say this game is better or worse but it's different, and whatever you liked or didn't like about Together isn't going to apply here.

The game starts out a little slow but the simple actions gradually take on a kind of meaning that I thought was beautiful.

I enjoyed it but I wish the gameplay was a bit funner. The platforming elements could have been fleshed out a bit more in my opinion to create a better gaming world but I really like how the memories train you to perform actions like swinging.

This is definitely a game that I barely consider a "game" as opposed to interactive storytelling. I think there are things that could have been done to make it a "better" game, but I suspect that wasn't his goal.

I was mostly okay with the final section - there was just enough "ah, it all comes together!" to make it both fun and poignant. I think I had more issue with the "tutorial" sections dragging on a bit without any real decisions beyond holding the right arrow key down.

I would like to see something that takes the general gist of this idea, and fleshes it out into something more game-y that lasts about half an hour.

BTW, just played a second time and discovered there are multiple endings, I assume randomly generated.

I like it much better now, since before I assumed that the only ending was finding the girl, which seemed to diminish the importance of the other characters. I do feel like there should be a way to influence which ending you get (even if you don't realize it the first time through).

I don't want to forget about this. When I get my PC back together I'll try it out.

Which reminds me that I also didn't try Destineer's Starcraft mod. I need to do that, too!

Not sure where you're posting from, but it's a flash game that takes abou 5 minutes total to play;

Is there a different ending when you never hit the blue wall?

Hmm. You have to hit it at least once to progress. But it does occur to me that it may depend on how well you did at each companion's challenge.

I don't feel like playing enough times to properly experiment, but if others want to help out:

SPOILER

-

The endings correspond to the different characters. So far I've got the girl twice and the dog once. I'm going to try deliberately failing at the blue wall and the swing and not screwing up at all on the platforming to see if I can get the green guy.
