A group of young offenders performing community service during a storm develop super-powers. Do they don capes and set out to save the city? No. Do they kill their probation worker and use their powers just to get through their day-to-day lives? Maybe. Is it better than Heroes? Most definitely!

It's no wonder that this series won the BAFTA for best drama -- it's is up there with Life on Mars, Blackpool, and Torchwood, as far as I'm concerned. It's been compared as a cross between Skins and Heroes, but that doesn't come close to doing it justice.

Too bad I'm almost finished with Series 2. These six episode runs are way too short. Doubly bad that Nathan isn't returning for Series 3.

It's most definately my favorite program still making new episodes!

If you can handle the silly innapropriate teen misbehavior it's impossible to not love this show.

It was renewed for a third season? It may be a good drama, but it's ugly. I mean, really distasteful. I keep watching it because I want to see what happens (lactokinesis, heh), but the behavior is beyond inappropriate. Particularly on Nathan's part. So I can manage without him coming back.

What's Blackpool about?

Very much agree about Misfits. It sounded like something that would be right up my alley, but I couldn't get past the first two or three episodes.

Blackpool is a gritty cop drama/murder mystery featuring a seedy casino owner and the cop who wants to pin the murder on him at any cost. It stars David Tennant, David Morrissey, and Sarah Parrish.

Oh, and every now and again, the cast will start singing and dancing along with the soundtrack. It's awesome.

(Sorry about the link spam. I couldn't decide on a favorite number, so I threw several of them in.)

So cool! I'll have to check it out.

Much better than Misfits, I thought, were Paradox (which I really hope gets renewed) and Luther (which has been).
