Looks interesting, I'll give my thoughts when it ends.

I'm not entirely sure if it IS about the oncomming collapse but thats my vibes I'm getting from it.

So far this is seeming a very fascinating series (though the libertarian overtones in terms of choice of language are annoying such as "looting private accounts" but at least he doesn't call the Federal Reserve "unconstitutional") but I have 2 questions:

1) If commodity prices are rising than why is my purchasing power much higher today than it was for example 10 years ago regarding specialized equipment like computers? 1000$ today can get something several hundred times more powerful than 10 or 20 years ago, heck, it would've costed 5000$ for something that cellphone is arguably more powerful than.

2) He's mostly referring to the USA as of video ten, but my question is how does this effect Canada, if the dollar gets destroyed by hyperinflation how would this affect the Canadian economy? Would my livelyhood get worse? Or Better?

This guy at least is rational and cites evidence, sources, and facts that justify his beliefs.

You just run around with your head cut off shouting hyperbole without any real evidence or historical context.

Interesting point, apparantly US inflation should be 13% today if calculated as it was in the 1980's, Social Security payments would be 70% higher using the real figures.

Why not?
I'm not seeing a contradiction here.

Well.
If it happens in the near future, then we'd probably be sunk. Hyperinflation would imply a crashed US economy and the portion of the Canadian economy that relies on the US.

As we go further into the future, that portion of the economy should be more diversified toward the developing countries, and it would affect us less.

In both cases, we would probably have to worry about illegal immigrants coming over for economic reasons or actual warfare depending on how serious the situation is. Nothing like a collapse of the economy to bring out the dangerous populist ideologues.

Welcome to the club, Blayne, from a slightly-less-crazy member of it. I think you'll enjoy this. It's from a few years ago, but I still find it very relevant; it definitely puts things in perspective.

"You just run around with your head cut off shouting hyperbole without any real evidence or historical context."

This is a Hatrack lie.

Over the last decade, I've loaded my posts with Facts, Evidence, and Historical Context along with some hyperbole. Hmmm. Maybe i'll go back and cut and paste.

I've been Hatrack's punching bag, flamethrower target and easy mark.

Everything I've said is true.

I don't expect anyone to ever give me credit for it though.

Yeah, that's probably true. That's what happens when one's reputation within a community for accuracy, level-headedness, and honesty is universally bad: it's a community agreement to beat on you.

Thor, dude, you know I'm rooting for you to do something great. But, please, don't be delusional.

Sounds like you've wasted much of the last decade researching. From now on, try making unsubstantiated claims in the form of one line quips. It might feel better. It'll darn sure leave more time for daydreaming or napping.
