I'm heading out later tonight to buy a new smart phone (my first!). I'm switching to Verizon from AT&T, mostly to save money on my plan, and I'm torn between the smart phones that they offer. I don't care much about 4G since where I'll be living next year won't have it and it eats up battery life anyway. I think I have my choices narrowed down to these two phones, but I really just can't make up my mind.

Does anyone have either of them, and have any comments?

Personally, I'm waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S2 (Verizon is labeling theirs the "Function") which should be available in the US sometime in the next month or so.

I've heard that there's a nice group of new phones coming out in the next few months. However, Verizon is changing their data plan pricing next week. After July 7th, they'll no longer offer unlimited data plans, and the new rates look pretty exorbitant to me. So I want to get into a new contract with them before time is up and the new rates kick in.

I was going to go to the store tonight, buy my mom got into a car accident and my night was derailed. I'm leaning heavily toward the Incredible 2 at the moment. I think I like the look and feel of HTC Sense more than Motoblur. That wasn't something I'd even thought about until I started reading reviews.

Has anyone here tried buying a phone from somewhere like letstalk.com or Amazon Wireless? Amazon Wireless offers the Incredible 2 for a penny. I could understand how Verizon could do that, since they make up a lot of that in data fees when they sell hardware at a loss, but I don't see how Amazon can basically afford to give them away unless they get a cut of it. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?
