I want to book a trip to South America, and I only have a few days to do it. Help!

I know quite a few of you have been there and I need help picking a few places. I can pick more than one destination, but here are my requirements:

1. Must be toddler-friendly.
2. Must have nice weather during our travel time (sometime between March and late July).
3. Must have ruins or other historical things to view.
4. Must have beaches, or other large bodies of water to lounge in.

Why I am booking now: On November 16, British Airways is revamping their miles program and currently trips to South America cost very few miles, which will change, according to my sources. I have about 115K miles to blow and I we really need a vacation.

Why before late July: Our son turns 2 then and we are trying to avoid paying for a seat for him, if possible.

So, any help you can offer me, or if you have redeemed British Air miles (through OneWorld partners), tell me how you went about it!

I would recommend asking at FlyerTalk; they're very good at getting the most bang for your buck for points and miles.

Ambyr, I have been to the forum, but I am such a newbie with international travel, that I can barely figure out what they are talking about. Apparently, travelers have their own language of slang and acronyms that I have yet to learn.

Heh! You speak truth. They're actually pretty nice if you say up front you're a newbie who doesn't know the lingo (at least, most of the sub-boards are, I have no experience with the British Airways people), but I'm also happy to translate if there's something specific you're wondering about. There is a handy glossary, too.
