It's what Peter Jackson named his studio and effects house after.

Why did she keep letting it bite her? Why not show pictures of it from inside a terrarium or something?

I want a WETA. They're so cute.

Though I would not let one bite me. But it's so cute with its tiny little eyes.

I'm relatively certain that the bug isn't drawing blood, but rather excreting something that's a more brownish color. It's entirely possible that the biting doesn't hurt, just feels like a small clamp.

She is calm about that too. For some reason I just love big bugs that people think are ugly. Also, tree lobsters are adorable. The males SNUGGLE with the females when they sleep. How cute is that?! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2108736/Extinct-tree-lobster-alive-clinging-Pacific-rock-taller-Empire-State-Building.html

That's a pretty incredible story.

But is a single pair enough to repopulate a genetically viable species?

This Island is AWESOME! The bug, not so much. It's impossible that there are only two of them, right?
