So, this is a pretty interesting development....
Some folks got together and made a pretty good (based on the reviews) low-budget comedy / horror movie with Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Summer Glau (Firefly), Steve Zahn, and some dude from Community. They shopped it around and couldn't find a distributor.
So . . . a website called Tugg.com shows up. They basically let people crowd-source movie theater screenings. Knights doesn't have any distribution and POW --they can screen to people directly. No distribution costs, no production companies, etc.
Assuming this catches on, it could really change the way indie cinema works. At the least, it's an interesting model. And the movie looks fun too.
AND . . . there's a screening posted in Salt Lake for anyone interested. It still has a bunch of tickets to sell. But it'd be pretty rad on a whole bunch of levels. <shrug>
