why do i even bother.

i've been around here for a long, long time. i rarely post. i'm no where near the 1000 post guideline for a landmark. in fact, this is my post '100.'

so, why this? why now?

why do i even bother?

well, i guess i like you people. go figure.

i'm a young parent, though i'm starting to feel old. since i joined hatrack i've been married and started to have children. my oldest daughter is now 2, and the new one is due to arrive around the new year.

i've got lots of life experiences i could share. i'm not the best of storytellers so i'll probably never get around to them. needless to say, i'll just skim the surface. i'm part of a big (8 kids) mormon family and i plan to not allow my own to get that large. i went on my mission to north-west italy, which i miss dearly. (the country, not the mission.) since that time, i have found osc through the ender books, found hatrack and the rest is history. (at least for me. [Razz] )

that's a very brief timeline. but, at least now i don't have to feel like such a huge stalker. just a little one. in june, i found 'hatrack chat.' sorry to say, i haven't posted here since then, though i feel i've gotten to know some of you much more in the last few months than all the time reading these forums.

i would continue by telling about all the icky circumstances of my present life, but... no. i'll just share with you my joys as time permits and continue to enjoy reading yours! i'll offer what i can to listen when you need a place to complain. just know that often i've turned to hatrack when i've needed some comfort and am glad to have had the opportunity to get to know many of you.

now, in a very small measure, i've begun to repay that debt.

Wow gnixing, I thought I was posting at a leisurely rate. You're more than 300 posts behind me and we joined up just about the same time.

Yay nixy! You posted! Proof that you really exist at last. [Razz]

Talking to you in chat has always been fun, and it's great to have your entertaining posts at my forum. Well and the non-entertaining ones too, but we won't mention those. [Wink]

You seem like a great guy, and since you've been here four years, Mr Hatrack Stalker Dude, I think you should definitely stay. In fact, if you leave, we're gonna stalk you.

Right Sarah? Right.

Glad to hear from you, g. Funny how much can happen in 4 years. I was married for a half a year when I first signed on to Hatrack back in November 2000. Since then we've had 2 kids and plenty of ups and downs.I don't really share too much about my life here, I guess, but Hatrack has long been a part of it. That's why it's so hard to tear myself away.

Hm. I was single when I got here, I'm single now, and I'm pretty sure I'll be single when I finally leave. Great.

I used to not want a large family, but my older siblings are averaging 2 per couple. My main issue is that my mental health is notoriously fragile. I have 3 living so far. I wouldn't mind at all having 2 more before I get sort of old.

It's too bad that I don't have hatrack chat. There is probably some way to do it without AOL, but I worry I already blow too much time here as it is.
