Disscusions, or Books, Films, Food, and american Culture?

Books is my vote, because more people post.

I tried posting to the 1830's for a while, but it was really-uh- boring. I'd be interested to know what happened with all that. Books is faster... dare I say 2 fast and 2 furious? I bet I'm the only person on Hatrack who has seen that.

I think this forum has a reasonably good pace, though I keep forgetting to put spoiler warnings on a lot of stuff. As I said in the Dear abbie thread, I'm not into the partisan politics and theology bashing aspects of the Books... side. Maybe it's because I am fundamentally opposed to both major parties. I hate the NRA and Planned Parenthood.

If you think that Books is better, why did you tell me to shut-up? Yeh, it really bugged me.
Books is better, unless they actually talk about something interesting (and new!) in the Discussions threads.

Pooka, if you're interested in role-playing you might want to check out the Virtual Battle School. It's fairly active and based on Enders Game.
I think Discussions is supposed to be specifically for OSC discussions, where as Books, etc. is more for general discussion and that people usually follow those category distinctions. One of them isn't necessarily better than the other they just have different themes.

Exactly. This side is for discussion directly related to Card or his works. It tends to have less interaction and fewer posts, but the REALLY INTERESTING threads spring up here occasionally.

Most of the action is found on the other side though. In fact, this thread belongs on the other side. [Wink]

Anon,

I haven't seen that many "really interesting" threads over here. Could you point out a few? (that's not a fair question.... even the interesting ones are likely weeks old). is this a prob with the topics, the subdivide of the forums, or the posters?

Well, I may be biased, but I always thought this thread was one of the most interesting ones on the Discussions side. [Wink]
