I was just curious as to what OSC was currently working on, and in what order we can expect them.
The Crystal City is obviously the next book to be released, but I'm assuming he's more or less finished with that. What's next on the agenda? Shadow of the Giant? Ender Movie Script? What can we expect to be his next release.

I am of course also aware that spending time with his family and actually having a life outside of writing are also priorities.

Well he's working on Rasputin, the sequal to Lovelock. This I know because he better be! I've been waiting for that book for years now! Come on! [Wink] [Razz] [Wink]

I'm of course, just kidding. He is working on Rasputin, but I get the impression that's more of a, "on the list" than "on the desk" thing. I think he's working on a script for EG but I can't remeber. Somewhere on this site there is (or was) a list of his current projects. I'll try and dig it up for you. [Smile]

Thanks Hobbes. [Smile]

Yeah, I had heard he was working on Rasputin too, but like you said, it's not his biggest priority.

I seem to have failed on the whole "Find the site" game. [Wink] It looks like to get a complete list you'll have to wait for KACard to notice the thread, she'll probably have a clue as to what her husband is doing. [Wink] [Wave]

Ohh, and if she does notice, Mrs. Card, you can tell your husband that if he and Mrs. Kidd ever need help correlating with the first book, I've read Lovelock over 50 times. [Big Grin] [Cool] [Big Grin]

Man, what a geek! [Wink]

I've only read Ender's Game about 35. Much less nerdy.

I believe that OSC is working on Shadow of the Giant. But, I don't know anything else besides that and the Ender movie script. I can't wait!! *gasps with excitement* I'm so happy, I could kiss myself!! Well, that's kind of hard to do. But I supposed if you had two heads you could kiss yourself!! Regardless of how odd that would be. [Kiss]

I've read EG well over 100 times. And yet Papa Moose beat me at that trivia contest. Though I want a re-match with different questions! [Wink] [Big Grin] [Wink]

Don't hold your breath. This thing is on a way, way back, back-burner. Petersen is directing Troy (at least) before Ender. It's going to be a few more years.

I'd say a 2007 release is the absolute soonest it could possibly come out. [Cry]

I just sort of found the answer to my question. In the about OSC section, if you go to bibliography it lists his published works, those completed but still waiting to be published (crystal city), and under the "in the works" section the only novel listed is Rasputin.

ooh!! Trivia contests? Where, where? *looks around in amazement*

It was at EnderCon. We keep hinting at the powers that be to have another one but so far, no dice. [Cry]

Card novels in some stage of development:

Shadow of the Giant
Master Alvin
Slow Leak
Book about Dragons in the electricity system, based on Novella in book noted on hatrack homepage
Pastwatch: The Flood
Pastwatch: Adam and Eve
Book based on the video game Advent Rising, story and dialouge by OSC
Rasputin
Feed The Baby of Love--will probably only happen when the movie happens
Possible Ender Prequel with Mazer's story

And the SUPER-HYPED children's book crossover between the tales of Alvin Maker and Ender Wiggin . . .

THE ADVENTURES OF ENDER'S PUPPY AND BLOODY MARY!!!

As for movies, in some stage of development, we have:

Enchantment (optioned by Dreamworks as an animated feature, option may have expired.)
Ender's Game (What, have you been living in a cave?)
Dogwalker (Producer and director already attached, as is the SFX company. Waiting for someone to write a script in between writing videogames.)
My One and Only (Oft whispered about, seldom spoken of independent film about three women at BYU)

Movies with scripts that have already been written, but not, to my knowledge, picked up:

Homebody
Pastwatch
Feed the Baby of Love

(I probably forgot a project or two, but Taal or Moose or Calvin or somebody will come along and fill in any I've missed.)

Feed the baby of love? Is that an OSC book? Sry if I don't sound very versed in the publications of the "Almight OSC", but I'm a relatively new OSC reader. But I must say, I will remain an OSC fan until I'm old and grey! That's kinda creepy.

"Feed the Baby of Love" is one of his better short stories.

Actually, you should seriously look out for some of Card's short story collections; they're very good, especially the extremely hard-to-find Maps in a Mirror.

I thought Maps in the Mirror had everything! What are the other ones?

thanx Tom. I'll have to try to find Maps in a Mirror (and Feed the Baby of Love). blacwolve, you're still funny. And the funny thing is that I don't know why . [Confused] These things are what keep me up at night. [Smile]

Obviously everything that he has written SINCE MitM came out.

Also, there are a lot in "The Fold of the Fringe" and "The Worthing Saga" that aren't included in Maps.

Today when I went looking for The Seventh Son, I assumed that Maps in the Mirror would be pubilshed already, but it's not out until December. Who knew...alright, no need to answer. [Smile]

Maps is getting REprinted, there are copies out there, check ebay, and used bookstores.

Ni!

Okay, I don't count Folk of the Fringe and Worthing Saga as short stories, since they follow a theme and are books. Anything else?

Wow, that's weird. I went to a bookstore yesterday and this lady at cust. serv. said she had never heard of any OSC books before, what an ingrate!! Who doesn't know who OSC is? Bah, humbug. [Mad] [Grumble] [Dont Know] Silly people. [Roll Eyes] She also didn't have any besides the Ender series in her comp. log, so, naturally, I didn't get any OSC books that I wanted b/c she couldn't tell me where they were!! Rarghghghgh!!!!! [Mad] *steaming from vent hole in top of head*

At the moment, he's working on Advent Rising and Rachel and Leah ... or was that Leah and Rachel? Whatever. That's what he's doing. So update your calendars, everybody.
