What are all of the main characters in The Seventh Son ?? I have Alvin, Calvin, Vigor, Measure, Wastenot, Wantnot, Alvin (the dad)... What are the names of the other two brothers and seven sisters and the mom? Oh, Armor of God and who is the girl who watches over Alvin with the caul? And who is the guy who has the book that everybody writes something in? I have a report on this - you can probably tell that I read this book a while ago and can't remember anything. The "long time ago" is only a couple of weeks...sorry to bother anyone who feels like answering this but I greatly appreciate it. Thank you...

David and Calm were the other two brothers. Mom was Faith. Eleanor was the oldest sister, and the others were Matilda, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Anne, and Mary. Armor of God Weaver later marries Eleanor. Taleswapper (William Blake) is the story guy. Little Peggy watches over Alvin.

Oh, and do your own homework! *smile*

Hey, wieczorek - I keep seeing your sig, "Remember, the enemy's gate is down."

Is that from a book or something?

[Eek!] Have you never read the highly prestigious Ender's Game !? [Mad]
No, just joking, Ralphie. But yes, my quote is from the infamous Ender Wiggin in the Ender's Game novel by... hail the Almight OSC [Hail] !! You will find that I am a bit obsessive about OSC's novels. I suggest you read Ender's Game - if you can appreciate metaphorical expressions, I didn't know what life was like until my mind had digested the wise words of that wonderful novel...

Pop, I'm adding you to my bibliography [Big Grin]

Hey Ralphie, you used to watch WB cartoons when you were young, didn't you....

Wieczorek, can I assume that you've only read the Seventh Son in the maker series. Otherwise forgetting the name of Peggy would be shameful. [Smile]

Okay, don't get me wrong. I liked Ender's Game quite a bit, and I think Speaker for the Dead was pretty brilliant. But while SftD had a few interesting philosophies I hadn't previously encountered by that point in my life, EG was pretty much a straightforward sports/war novel with a clever setting and a few dollops of angst. What about Ender's Game was actually LIFE-CHANGING to you, W?

Correct, Mikal [Wink]
It's just an expression, Tom [Wink]

So it's wild hyperbole, then? Kind of like, "I didn't know what life could be like, mom, until I tried your delicious rice-based cereal?"

...maybe not that wild...but Koala Crisp cereal is really great is you care to eat koala shaped cocoa cereal. Who ever thought of that, anyway? Making animal shaped food? It's insane! Maybe it was that person who decided that eating cats was a good idea...
