wouldnt it be cool
if the events that happned in the enders game seires happned, and all the smart ppl went to battle school, and we fought buggers and killed them all and then we'd be cool. and we could have a party [Party]

i wouldn't like that at all...
it would be really sad...
cause all the buggers would die... [Cry]
and all the poor children would feel guilty... [Cry]
and lots of humans would die... [Sleep]
and Ender would exist... [Angst]

and we could have a party...
[Monkeys]

But not all the buggers would die. And since we'd all know what happens having read the books we would know not to grieve for them because they'll come back again once humans no longer hate them (publicly). I've always kind of believed that those things will someday happen, just not probably until after I die so I won't get to see them. [Frown]

Unless you get on a space ship and travel at relativistic speeds for a really long time, stopping just to pick up supplies and the occasional invention, like the ansible, so you can keep in instantaneous contact with all the stuff that's going on. Then you'd see it all...

I guess my usual measure for a true story is one that applies to various factual situations. But I'm not coming up with something like Ender's Game off hand. Though I'm sure I've said "blah blah just like in Ender's Game yadda yadda." Oh, yeah. I decided Ender's Game applies to all of us as we try to figure out how we fit in the world. How the best things we do in life arise from overcoming the worst things. Like how oysters make pearls out of irritants like sand.
