So I'm not very religious. In fact I am determindly not religious. Stubbornly athiest. I am being raised Jewish, which I don't really mind. I have just gotten so disillusioned with anything connected to God and religion for being corrupted and unhelpful and just in general the opposite of what these concepts and credos were invented to do.

(I realize that not all elements of all religions are in bad condition, by the way. Please don't hate me)

So although absolutely everything I've read of Mr. Card's has been fabulous, I was hesitant to read the Women Of Genesis series. I'm not blind; I noticed that Mr. Card is somewhat more religious than I...

I just finished Rebekah. Which I started just after finishing Sarah. As in, today. I am somewhat in shock. The Bible just came back alive and I can't wait for the next book (My name! Yay!).

The miracle is Mr. Card's writing. When religious fiction can be written so that a confirmed athiest like me can desperately wish to feel the presence of God again, you know the author has power.

(Actually, I knew that after finishing my first of his works, but this is something else. Wow.)

It's great to see you again, Princess Leah! I really enjoyed those books as well, and am also eagerly awaiting the next one. I hope they post the early chapters on the website again.

Why can't more authors post chapters as they finish them? Not that I am bitterly recalling the loooooooooooong wait on tenterhooks between reading The Subtle Knife and the publishing of The Amber Spyglass, or say, Harry Potter #4 and #5. OSC is not only talented, but is considerate of rabid readers who can't wait! [Hail]

You seem cool. You like some of the same books I do.

Remember, things are not always what they seem...

But someone who reads OSC and His Dark Materials (sounds like a grunge band name) must have good judgement. So thanks for the compliment. [Wink]

Ahh, the good old days, when OSC would post each and every chapter as he finished them on the AOL Hatrack River Town Meeting.

In Word Perfect format...

Of course I had to download them at 2400 bps. Then walk uphill in the snow to get to the printer.
