This is just another opinion thread. I love those! So I just finished FoftheF and I really enjoyed it. I went in having no idea what to expect...I just knew that it was vaguely about Mormons. [Smile] I liked it a lot.

Favorite Story: The Fringe

Favorite Character: Carpenter. I would LOVE to see more of him. I was almost irritated that he was the main character of such a SHORT story. I loved his strengths, his weaknesses and his self-awareness. Great great character.

Favorite Reference to outside culture: Katie's desire to play Eleanor in the Lion in Winter. I LOVED that because I DID play Eleanor in the Lion in Winter on stage and I recognized the Damascus line. Good inside joke fun, I love it when that happens!

So, great set of stories, MUCH more satisfying than First Meetings (IMHO) and I'm glad that I bought it in the Mall of America last week.

I read that book when I was a freshman at BYU, and it didn't do much for me.

Then I read it again a few months ago. I *loved* it. I sobbed at parts. I think that because of what I have experienced these last 12 years (marriage, 3 children, etc.) some of the stories really struck home to me. [Dont Know]

It's one of my favorites, Narnia.

And that's coming from a former member. [Eek!]

It's the glint of salvation, that finding of the seed of goodness in every character/situation. In the learning that goes on. It's beautiful. Even when it's sappy.

I think that I just like calling it "FoftheF." It has a nice ring to it!

Narnia [Evil] (<---temporary sig in honor of the threads on the other side)
