I finally started reading it this week. Granted, I've had to read it while watching my kiddos swim, so maybe I've missed some stuff. Was Jim Bowie in "Heartfire?" I don't remember him in it. I'm not sure why he's so mad at Alvin.

IIRC, the two short stories are Grinning Man (I love this one) found in the book Legends, and Yazoo Queen (I didn't care for this one as much) in the book Legends 2.
