Amazon.com tells me that I'll get my copy between May 26th and June 4th...but it won't give me an exact release date.

Is there any truth to Amazon.com's allegations? [Wink]

Release=June

Manuscript=not finished yet, at least last time I heard. (About a week or so ago)

Really? Doesn't publishing take several months after the manuscript is finished? If it isn't finished yet, how can it be coming out next month?

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

I thought so too muppet. It seems like the publicity alone would take a chunk of time. [Dont Know]

The book is finished, edited, all ready for press. Deseret Book is an amazing publisher and has been gearing up for this publication for a while so they could hit the ground running. I think it will be in stores the end of June or first of July.

Yippeee!! Thanks for the solid info. [Smile]

Alright! Though I guess this means I definitely wasn't chosen as an advance reader. I am just kidding. Couldn't use a winkey or folks would think that means I am an advance reader.

I guess I should stop checking Amazon eight times a day to see if my copy was shipped out.

Posted by pooka (Member # 5003) on :

Umm, yeah you may want to have that looked at.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Just get it down to a moderate *5* times a day and you'll be pronounced sane. [Smile]

My system at work said today that the book was in transit. I take that to mean I can expect it in my store in Friday or Monday's shipment so be on the lookout! I can't wait!

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

I'm getting impatient. At least a DATE!!??? *taps foot*

Posted by dawnmaria (Member # 4142) on :

I got it! They came in to my store today! Try your local Waldenbooks/Borders. Maybe they got theirs as well! [Big Grin] :wanders away to read:

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

Okay, so where the heck is the book I ordered from Amazon?

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Yeah. That's what I'm sayin'.

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

Amazon says it still hasn't been released...

Anyone have anymore info? dawnmaria...did you finish the book? like it?

Will I ever get mine? [Frown]

Deseretbook.com has it in stock and ready to go.

(We reported on this at http://www.philoticweb.net/ a nice while ago - more reasons to visit us for your OSC news [Wink] )

I went to reserve this at the library yesterday and it wouldn't let me. But it was only because I forgot I was already on the list! I think I might be first, because it's been months since I could have done that. I even paid off my library fines in anticipation....
*waits, but not very patiently*

Whooo hooo, I'm 109th out of 109 in line for this book! [Eek!]

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Jeez! Amazon is going so slow, it says that it's releasing on July 30th!!!

(but it's also only $16.77) Is the sale price worth the wait??? hmmmmm....

I had to read in the OSC changing styles thread that the lead chapters are up on the home page. Trust me, I looked for them last week. I didn't realize it was necessary to click on the title, and that takes me to the page with the chapters link. [Big Grin] <--is psyched

Dunno if Amazon is shiiping them yet, but I do know for a fact that copies ar being stocked on the shelves in many LDS bookstores.

Amazon must be weird. I got mine four days ago at Borders.

I got mine yesterday at Borders. I gave up on Amazon and cancelled my order.

I also ran onto a copy of Stone Tables which Amazon couldn't get for me [Big Grin] , so I'm happy.

I just wanted to complain that our book finally arrived, and my wife instantly snatched it up! Oh, the agony! How much longer will I have to wait?

Wow... it has been a loooong time since I've posted on this side of the forum. At least, I can't remember the last time I did. I got my copy from BN.com the other day, although I forgot about using the link on the frontpage. [Frown]

Mine came all wrapped in plastic like they just grabbed it out of the box that came from Deseret. It smelled all nice and new. Love that new book smell. [Big Grin]

I tend to just fire through books, but I am gonna take my time reading this one.
