Anywho, I've tried to read all of OSC's books, and I'm working my way up. I've read Ender's Game countless times... over 20... but I've grown up and the others now interest me more. I haven't found a single one that wasn't a good one. Altho some of them were a little weird, like that guy who goes in to fix that house and it attacks him...

I've also read the short stories where he's only the editor. (I'm not sure if I should be speaking to OSC... or about...) but yah.

I had a few questions I was wondering if they could be anwsered, sorry if they seem obvious, but like I said I'm new here...

first off, the word "né" is in one of the Ender's Game series I belive (one of Bean's novels I think..). I was wondering what that ment and witch language?... Cause I use it as a replacement for mek and eh in my speach... so I figured it'd be good to know the real meaning.
Or does it only mean born in french and nothing special.

what's this battle school forum thing?... is that some sorta game? and if so how do I play and... what type is it?

Oh, and when's the movie coming out?... I remember hearing about it a long time ago... or has it come out without me noticing even?

Thanks for your time, Will

You sure it's not "Neh"? Just a word for no, or "Don't you think?" Something like that.

It's cool, neh?

The Ender series has a very unique slang.

*shrugs*

anyway, I agree with your topic title. Took me forever to find it. I'm used to finding it at the end of the page.

Né probably comes from Portugese, since OSC speaks Portugese, and it is a common Brazilian expression. It's short for "Não é", which means "Isn't it".

edit: Não == no or not
é == is

Ah thanks, I tried looking it up in a one of those webtranslators. But I guess it didn't take the slang.

I've just never heard anybody say "neh". Only eh [Razz]

But the Não é makes sense that's cool.

anywho, I'm still wondering what that Battle School thing is, seems weird.

And any word of Ender's Game the movie.

The link on the home page is the most current info that has been released on the movie. I don't know a lot about the battle school forum. You also might be interested in philoticweb.net, which is dedicated to EG stuff.

In Portugese, it isn't really even slang. It's more of an unofficial contraction. It is extremely common.

Awww - it's probably just a misspelling of the old english "nay" . . . [Razz]

And the post new topic button is at the top of the page for a very good reason.

No - I don't know what that reason is . . . I just hang out here and offer inane comments from time to time . . .

[Big Grin]

[Confused] Am I the only one who sees a "Post New Topic" button at the top and ANOTHER at the bottom of the page?

Well, I certainly see it.. I don't know who could have actually missed it!! Who said that??

I've always seen it.. yup... use it all the time.... [Smile]

lol, the post reply buttons are in irregular places.

you'd know if you went to other forums.
and my eyes just skipped over images, because they're usually frivolous.

as for all the rest thanks, I'll check out those two links pooka.

I suppose né is just shorthand.
I remember saying neh before I used né... one person went "are you a horse"?...

*shrug* Actually, I do go to a number of other forums. Two have the buttons in the same spots (not surprising, since they're also UBB); the rest have them in a variety of locations.
