The seventh and final book in the series is called "Master Alvin." It will come out sometime after it is written [Smile]

Every book that he writes for a series just because people want more of the same is another work of genius that we don't get from him because he was too busy with the series.

edit: eek! What an ugly run-on sentence!

But we don't want more just because we want more of the same. We want more because we want closure (which we should know not to expect, especially because in the beginning of Alvin Journeyman (I think), Card spends a few pages basically saying that it won't all be wrapped up with a pretty bow and that even he can't really explain Calvin). We do want more of the same, of course; it is just that that is not the only reason we want the series to continue.

I would rather have a brilliant stand-alone novel like Enchantment than any amount of closure for other novels that I may or may not of loved.

Ah, but see, as the brilliance of Enchantment is still subjective (not that I'm arguing with you on that, I loved it, I'm just making a point), others may value the books at the end of a series more than stand-alone novels. And either way, it doesn't matter much, because I believe Mr. Card will do whatever he wants regardless of what we say. [Smile]

And who's to say that the books at the series' end are not works of genius in themselves?

I need to stop quibbling. Apologies. We each have our opinions and neither is likely to change what Card does.

I'm to say. [Razz]

Obviously you are operating on "the illuminating principle that wishing makes it so." [Smile] You won't, of course, ask me to give you a reference for that, because being from one of Card's towards the end of the series books, you likely wouldn't appreciate it anyway. [Smile]

btw: Go Aggies! [Party]
