Hi all. First post. I read ender's game a couple years ago and am now just getting all the other books in the series. I was wonder if someone could tell me in what order they take place, or what order you think they should be read for the first time. I loved ender's game and read speaker for the dead which was also great. But I wanted to re-read them all in order in which they take place. any help for the clueless? thanks.

If you go to this link, you will find a pull-down menu for the books, which lists the Ender series in order, followed by the Shadow series. I just finished Ender's Shadow, and my new idea for a project is to read both books at the same time

Read all of the 'shadows' first in order that you remember what was in EG. Then SftD and Xenocide and Children of the Mind. Speaker is one of the best and it's got little to do with accidents that took place 3000 years before

I recommend reading them in the order written.

Well, you've got the two series:

Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Children of the Mind

and

Ender's Shadow
Shadow of the Hegemon
Shadow Puppets
Shadow of the Giant (coming in March)

You can pretty much jump in between the two series how ever you want as long as you read the books in each individual series in the right order. I would also recommend reading in the order of publication though, which is the order I've listed them in above.

Also, if you wanted to read them in the order in which they occured you'd have to read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow at the exact same time. Hope you've got good eyes. [Big Grin]

Read them in the order written or marmosets will eat your brain. I've seen it happen.

Did you get it on film by any chance?

*hopeful*

the one and only correct order:

Shadow Puppets
Children of the Mind
Shadow of the Hegemon
Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Ender's Shadow

I believe I read Ender's Game, then I read Ender's Shadow because I thought it was the sequel (The YA version doesn't list any of Card's books inside) and then I finished the Ender series and then I read the rest of the shadow series. But it really doesn't matter what order you read them in as long as you keep the individual serieseseses in order ( [No No] Kama [No No] ).

This is the order I read them in(I think):

Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Shadow of the Hegemon
Ender's Shadow
Children of the Mind
Shadow Puppets

But you should probably read them in the order they were written.
