Okay, about 3 months ago I went to a swap meet. There I found all of the ender's game books. I just finished Xenocide today so I had no reason to look at my Children of the Mind book. I open it up and there it is [Eek!] , I'm not 100% sure it is, but i'm going to say it is til Orson says it isn't himself, if you want to look go here

It looks a lot like mine. I'd say its real. Someone would have to be very good at faking it to make it look that close.

Yep, it's real. Looks exactly like mine, and OSC puts the names of the people and a little saying from his vast store in his signatures.

Cool.

How sad that the two people lost their signed copy of such a great book.

Gail and Stacey are no doubt Kerry voters who were so horrified by the fact that I had different political views that they tossed my books.

But that is indeed a genuine signature.

*blinks* - I think Papa is being sarcastic. - EnderCon was in Utah. *hugs and kisses his 'The Enemy's Gate is Down' shirt*

I'm always saddened when I see personalized autographed books for sale. I bought some autographed books on eBay last year and when they arrived, they had notations from the author along the lines of "Thanks for the great time, we'll always have Bennigan's" or something obviously very personal. I felt like I was looking into someone's clothes drawer.

I'm not so sure half the notations actually mean anything though.. I got a few signatures from him personally and one of them made no sense to me at all.. I even felt like /i/ was looking into someone's underwe.. no, it was more like someone threw a pair of underwear through my window as I was eating breakfast. It just confused me. *looks for the book* - EnderCon was a couple of summers ago at the University.

Will it ever come back???

Posted by Judas (Member # 7355) on :

What did Scott say about that? - Anyone remember? - I think he said it would be 10 years before they did that again- i'm sure if they do, it will be bigger than last time, and there will be much more help (Instead of just Scott's family and friends and generous P-webbers) -- Oh, and of course it will be in Oregon, right? Mr. Card? .. our west coast is so neglected...

organ, frick, oh well, if it dosn't come for like 2 years i'll be fine, by then i'll be able to drive

Posted by Shigosei (Member # 3831) on :

organ?? Sheesh, everybody mispronounces it as Oree-GONE, and now it's being confused for internal structures of the body?

It would, of course, be wonderful if you would come to Oregon again, OSC. Preferrably summer because that's when it's nice out -- Portland is great, sure, but what's really amazing about Oregon is our outdoors. I highly recommend a trip down the coast. Also, summer's when I'm home from college. [Wink]

Everything I write in books makes sense to ME. Remember, if it doesn't make sense, that may be because my handwriting is illegible and you guessed wrong about what the letters are.

I don't believe that is a signature. That is clearly a cartoon sketch of an egg-shaped head with over-sized glasses and a mustache. "Suffer the children" is obviously a caption, showing us the maniacal glee of this evil character.

Posted by Ginosion (Member # 7066) on :

it looks like to me a egg shaped head with big lips is kissing a guys skinny wiggly arm

What is the world coming to? When just anybody can go onto a website and poke fun at a famous author's handwriting? Jeez.

PS: (It looks like a butterfly shooting a laser beam at a big egg)

That's without doubt, an evil butterfly pushing Humpty Dumpty off his wall.

It's okay though. I never liked Humpty Dumpty anyway.

Posted by Icarus (Member # 3162) on :

But if you look at the Zapruder Tape (or rather, the Ginosion Photo), you can clearly see that, well before getting pushed, Humpty Dumpty has already been cracked!

[Eek!]

Conspiracy!!!

THE BUTTERFLY DID NOT ACT ALONE!!!
