Where the *u** am I now!? Last time I was transported to Cuba, and the bell hop at the hotel informed me that their next shipment of bottled water wasn't due to arrive for another day, but at least he was kind enough to fetch me a nice cold glass of Iced Tea with all the ice-cubes he could spare, at least I hope it was Iced Tea? It better have been Iced-Tea! But now.. Where am I now? Oh okay, I think I get it now.. I'm supposed to go over there and eat with those people and see what I can learn.. but after last time's little adventure and *shudder* sickness, I'm not going to eat or drink _one_ _damn_ _thing_! At least, if I can help it, but I'll walk over and see what happens...

With introductions made now, my Knewbie question... I've only read Ender series so far, from Ender's Game to Shadow of Puppets, didn't even know book eight was out! YaY! My question was going to be concerning what might possibly come next in the story, and even though I now just have to wait for the new book to be delivered. I'm still going to ask anyway...
But before I do I must say that The character Achilles (along with _all_ the others) and the story as a collective was very well written and extremely captivating to me because of the 'as near to real life' explanations of why they did the things they do and did...
But the cliff hanger left me, not only in anticipation of the next installment but also left me asking..
"Is Petra really pregnant with Beans Baby!?"
Because I wouldn't put it past Achilles to, in the end, find some way to have his revenge against Bean and in a round-a-bout and very sick and twisted way of logic, show how much he actually loved Petra.
But I guess I'm about to find out as soon as the book gets here..
um... no spoilers please lol just incase I'm right or wrong (I'll soon know) but my new question is... was I the ONLY one here that thought of that possibility? or are there others here with the like-of-mind when they reached the end of 'Shadow of Puppets'?

umm... in a way, Achilles does have revenge..

I sure hope she was pregnant, or I'm going to have to go back and reread that book my parents gave me when I was about nine, the one about boy-parts and girl-parts and ... it was so confusing.

Actually... my mistake. I should have explained my question a bit more. I understood that she was pregnant, through artifical means. What I was confused on, and what left me thinking was, that it might turn out _not_ to be Bean's child, instead, because of how completely evil Achillies is/was.. he might have paid the scientist to use his genes instead of Beans. But that idea would mean a book title of "Achilies' Bastard".
But yeah, I still need to find the time to sit down and read the new book.

Oooooh, that woulda been downright EVIL.
However, what Achilles wanted was for BEAN's genes to procreate so that Achilles could exploit the genius of Bean's genetically-enhanced offspring. So...in the interests of Achilles' self-serving plans, he would probably opt to simply steal embryos which may or may not be genetically-enhanced.
