Before joining this community I fully intended on waiting for the paperback edition of SotG. After all, this rest of my Enderverse books are paperbacks.

But since becoming addicted to hatrack, I ordered the hardcover edition so I can finally stop avoiding all those spoiler threads. I also ordered Enchantment after reading good things about it here.

Now if they'd just get here, I'd have something to do other than post.

Not worth it. I just make these things up anyway.

Mr Card, forgive me for stating this, but I hope you'll perpetually be in these jet-lags, as your sense of humour just rises beyond anything I'd've (real contraction?) imagined.

Edit: "Perpetually" with a single "A". It's not Dutch.

Hm...

I always suspected that the Hatrack community is the beginnings of a plot designed to sway public opinion by the use of various pseudonyms, all in an elaborate plot to take over the world and achieve world peace.

It's almost as if I read it someplace.

In fact, by printing this strategy indirectly by having a character use it in "Ender's Game," it's something similiar to when Alai flat out told the Chinese that the Xinjiang invasion was a ruse, knowing that a) they wouldn't believe him, and b) couldn't do anything about it even if they did.

Of course, if he truly is making this all up, then he's quite a bit more busy than "Locke" and "Demosthenes." There are, what, 7000 users on the Hatrack forums?

Wait... you mean to tell me that OSC makes all this up and that there isn't really a universe where all this happens? My world has just been shattered. I even thought about reporting that to a moderator I was so overcome with grief. (Hmmm, reporting a random OSC post to a moderator. They'd probably have Jane(from Enderverse) infest my computer and destory everything) Oh wait... she doesn't exist. There is no emote that can truly capture how I feel right now.

I bought my first actual purchased by myself OSC novel today. It was Red Prophet. All my other books I married into, or was given as gifts, or "inherited" from relatives who are still in good health (read: stole).

Mmm. you'll love Enchantment. I think it's the one I've read the most times...right up there with Lovelock, Ender and Speaker. Such wonderfully read-overable books. [Smile]
