I just noticed yesterday that my copy of "Ender's Game" jumps, and I wondered if one of you could look up to see what line/s are missed.

It's at the beginning of chapter 9, "Locke and Demosthenes", towards the end of the adults' narrative...

"Not just every day. Only when it's for the child's own good."

-gap-

the most ruthless and unreliable human beings we've laid hands on. Why is he so important to Ender, after all this time?"

It's pages 132-133 in my copy if that's a help.

Thanks for any assistance you can give...

“OK, it’s for his good. But why. His brother is dangerous, his brother was rejected for this program because he’s one of the most-ruthless and unreliable human beings we’ve laid hands on. ……

People are always so mean to Peter.

Then again, he IS ruthless and unreliable - if you're relying on him to do things your way - or the way he said he would do them.

No problem lonlywalker. Anyone on this board can do this, I just happened to be the first one. [Wink]

But he came a long way since then. I loved the way Peter turned out in SOTG. Especially his attitude toward Petra and Bean’s babies.
