After reading the little piece about AOL and Thunderbird, I thought I'd toss Opera out as an option. It stores all mail in a plaintext ".mbs" file. It seems to divide the files up by month, and attachments are also encoded right in the file.

Sounds cool. I'll look at Opera.
Main thing is to get an easy way to print them all out, archive them, and CLEAR OUT MY BOX without losing any of my correspondence.
