Bouncing around from links originating from this site I ended up Running across this.

I have never read Bova before, heck there are tons of SCI-FI out there it is hard to choose. Though with this quite I think I have my next selection..

Years ago, I picked up John Crowley's brilliant first novel "The Deep" because of a glowing cover quote from Harlan Ellison.
As an author, I try to be very selective about the quotes I give - I don't quote a book unless I've read it, and liked it; and everything I say in the quote is true.
That doesn't guarantee that all readers will agree with me. Who can promise such a thing? But it does mean that when I have a quote on the cover, I mean what I say and I hope you'll at least give the book a try.

Always Great to hear. I hate when quotes are thrown out like candy and I feel very cautious when they are truncated for who knows what context the said quote was taken from.
Hopefully however i can find a way to con you into adding a quote to my first book.. whenever that happens.. even if it is one spouted off in the 'unlikly' thread you started. Heh

I think the funniest was when I saw an quote from an author praising a book (many years ago) when in fact they had actually ghost written the book for someone else.

Frankly, I don't care who blurbs for a book. That stuff is meaningless to me. I decide if I want to read a book by the author first. If I am not familiar with that I go with what my close associates say about a book. Finally, if I don't choose from those two criteria, and that is most of the time, I read what the book is about. No matter how much praise or who does it, if the book doesn't explain what it is about I don't even consider it as possible reading material.

I started reading Robin Hobb because of a blurb by OSC, and she's quickly become one of my favorite writers of fantasy. And I'm about to start on Brian Sanderson's Elantris, which I think OSC has a blurb on too, though I heard about it first through his glowing review in the Rhino Times column.
Having people whose recommendations fit your literary taste is invaluable; I never need to just browse for a book anymore, because I have an ever-growing list of ones I already know I'll love.

Oh, this is very encouraging for Elantris, the book I got in the mail the other day.
