I am currently reading Harts Hope and I am about half way through it and so far I am loving it. Unless the ending really sucks it will probably jump onto my ten favorite books list. (I'm not acually sure whats all on that list) but what I'm wondering is why when people mention favorite OSC books or current books their reading why no one mentions Hart's Hope. If its because of the ending just say that but don't give me spoilers please. I will be finished with the book in a day or two.

Hart's Hope is easily in my hallowed trilogy of greatest OSC books ever. It is similar to Ender's Game in that it (among other things) relays the pain of a boy surviving and maturing in a cruel world, but I think is able to make that pain much more personal and tangible. The mythology of the world is rich with a pantheon of dynamic gods and goddesses, all subject to the whims and faith of mankind. Hart's Hope touches upon some huge issues which are so deeply woven into the clever plot that successive read-throughs reveal new surprises.
Hmm. I guess you weren't asking for a book report - apologies - but it's hard for me to hold back. I love the book. Not a big fan of the alliterative title, but love the book.

I must admit to only having read it once, as a youngster. I am not sure I fully understood it at the time, and I plan on re-reading it again soon.

It's a great book and I love it. It's a very vivid world. When I first started reading it I was afraid it was going to be a happy happy cute story, oh how horribly horribly wrong I was.

I think I'll have to go to the library and take it out. It's one of the few (the list is growing, fortunetly! -more good books to look forward, to. Just incase that wasn't obvious ) OSC books I haven't read.
