Does anyone else think that Magic Street and OSC's Middle Woman have similarities?

I didn't notice any similarities myself - in what way do you mean?

[Monkeys] [Monkeys] [Monkeys]

Thinking about it again, I suppose they both have a theme of restraint in the use of power, as well as a deus ex machina type of thing with "Bag Man/Puck" & the dragon - a higher power that is going to trick the user into twisting a wish. Is that what you are talking about?

The more I think about it, the more I see the parallel, but don't you think that's a fairly typical theme in fairy tales?

(BTW - that shouldn't be interpreted as a criticism of either the author of the book, nor the author of the original post!)

As i finished the book I saw that this was not his true theme. AT the time of the post i had just reached the cold dreams/Puck part and saw the similarites to the short story i had just finished reading a few days ago.
