Upon consultation with a couple of people who work (as I used to) at the Davis County Library, I've discovered that their impression is that this signing will be taking place at the Bountiful library (where OSC has appeared before) rather than at the Farmington library as indicated on this website.
Hopefully this is an easily rectified discrepancy. I'd hate to have all the fans at one library and OSC at another. I'm sure neither of those camps would be happy about it either.

I believe that I asked this same question earlier (sort of), but I would like to reiterrate how much excitement I felt at hearing that I was within walking distance of an OSC book signing.
Anyway, Bountiful isn't that far away so whatever works for you. <pleading eyes>

If the Salt Lake signing is at Deseret Book in ZCMI Center, then there'll be no talk - there's no space for it, so I just sit down at a table and sign.
The Bountiful gathering, however, will begin with a Q&A. So if you just want a book signed, with little chance for conversation but far greater efficiency <grin>, the SLC signing is the one for you. If you want to hear be babble for an hour before the signing starts, then I'll see you in Bountiful.

OK, so is that a personal slam directed at the tad bit loooooong winded Mr. Williams or a blatent refusal to sign anybody elses work?
I personally enjoy reading Tad Williams. Where else you can read rather long books very quickly since you are skipping pages and not missing anything along they way?

It looks like I'll be at the SLC one on Tuesday evening. It is at Borders rather than Deseret Book, so I _really_, _really_, hope it's the more fun "hear OSC speak for an hour" version of a book signing.

Thought about gathering at the Bountiful library:
The auditorium seats 250. The fire marshal frowns at more. Therefore, when people like OSC, Garrison Keillor, and Larry King showed up while I worked there, we handed out tickets a week in advance. No ticket, no access for the q&a. Last time OSC visited, he was extraordinarily generous and did two q&a sessions, so people without tickets got to hear him. I, as an employee, heard both sessions, and many of the same questions were asked, but he managed to be equally scintillating the second time around.
For the signing, of course, no tickets required.
Moral: I'm not sure if they're doing tickets this time around. Probably, but to be sure, I'll check and get back with y'all.

Yep. Tickets. Available August 13 at ten AM, opening time. Two single admission per person, first come, first served. There will be a line outside the door, and there are only 250 tickets, so be there early.
Hint: The Bountiful library is the biggest in the county, and thus will have the longest and most unruly line. However, there will also be tickets available at the smaller libraries, like the ones out in the boonies of Syracuse or Farmington. Less people usually wait there, because every time about half the people who want tickets seem to think that they're only at the library where the author is speaking. Of course, when one library runs out of tickets we start claiming those at other branches by phone, so most likely the whole county will run dry by ten thirty or eleven.
Here a relevant flyer, with addresses and urgent punctuation.
You also need to be in your seat by 645, when they start letting standby people in. Of course, this also means if your ticket grab falls through, you can show up early for the show and be one of those standby people. It actually works for a surprising number of hopefuls. Or you could throw up your hands and go to the Salt Lake signing.

When I checked his upcoming schedule, I was disappointed to see that he's not coming to Florida any time soon. I don't suppose you can answer this, but do you happen to know if FL has ever been (or will be) one of the places OSC visits?

There were easily over 200 people at Borders last night for the SLC signing, but less than half that many chairs... It was still worth it though. By the way, if you go early, he'll start signing before he does the Q&A from 7-8pm, so that everyone can get done faster. Last night he was signing until after 10pm.

OSC stays until everyone gets their book signed. The first signing I went to, he sat at the table and signed and chatted with people for well over four hours. Very gracious.

I've heard that you bring them all, get in line, get three or four signed, then get back in line at the end to get the rest signed. That way you're not holding up the line and OSC has the option to say "Maybe next time." if it gets too late.

Vadon: yeah, there were that many people behind you. My wife was kind enough to accompany me to the signing, but she's pregnant, and after standing through the 1-hour Q&A session, she couldn't handle standing any longer. So instead of rushing the line with everyone else, we ended up sitting at a table so she could rest, and ended up at the back of the line with the guys with huge bags full of books. It was about 10:15pm when we left, and he probably had about 30-40 books left to sign for two more gentlemen after us.
I'm extremely glad he stays until the line is gone, but I'm not so glad I got to stay that late with him . We were about two hours late getting back home to kids and the babysitter. And we found out the hard way that after the first two (free) hours, the parking at the ZCMI Center gets really expensive (we had to pay the "up to 4 hours" rate of $6). We also learned exactly how few restaurants are open after 10pm on a Tuesday night, since we didn't get to eat before the signing. (In case you're wondering, fast food is about all that is still open. I think Hire's and Litza's may have been open, but we couldn't tell for sure.)
So a hint for those going to tonight's Bountiful signing: It's 3pm Mountain time right now, so you probably should try to be there in about 2-3 hours if you want to be done before 9pm.
