I started a thread in which I asked about the Grinning Man. Then someone commented on my user name and said that they liked Pepsi to. I decided that it was a valid question when I thought about it. EVERYONE out there Coke or Pepsi?????????

Posted by tern (Member # 7429) on :

Coke. Then again, I'm in Texas where it's ALL Coke, even Pepsi.

This might do better on the other side; but as for me, a plague on both your houses. Sickly-sweet squeep. (This is my transliteration of a Norwegian word meaning, approximately, 'bilge water', only with none of the connotations of pleasant freshness. I couldn't think of a sufficiently venomous English word. Besides, it alliterates.)

King of Men, what do you drink for taste that has no nutrition?

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I've always been a fan of Pepsi. Especially Pepsi Blue, which I miss so much.

YOU said the "P" word!

Coke for me!

Pepsi Cola is nasty stuff, but Pepsi Corporation was the one to make Josta. Mmmmm, perfection in a soda. But, the evil Pepsi Corporation ceased production of Josta to make Pepsi One, so even if they did have a good cola it would be a travesty to support that company.

So, Coke for me, too. [Smile]

Many, many years ago, I seem to remember that there was something called 'Crystal Pepsi' which tasted like liquid cinamon.

Now I drink coke.

I like diet cherry coke, but prefer diet vanilla pepsi.. am I a bad person?

Diet Coke for me

Posted by Nell Gwyn (Member # 8291) on :

I quite enjoy Pepsi Twist and Pepsi Lime, but will drink the Coke variants of these as well. The blue label is just more appetizing, for some reason.

Coke. With rum in it. Otherwise, ew.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

when I was seven I decided I didn't like soda anymore. My family thought it was just a phase I was going through, but I honestly went for about 8 years without a single soft drink passing my lips. I still don't like soda that much, and prefer juice or water.

Posted by Artemisia Tridentata (Member # 8746) on :

Diet Lemon Coke. However, they evedently have quit making that too.

Posted by smitty (Member # 8855) on :

Coke for straight up soda, Diet Pepsi with Lime for diet soda, and Dr. Pepper for my good friend Jack D.

Posted by D. James Larkin (Member # 8865) on :

Rootbeer... =)

Posted by OSTY (Member # 1480) on :

Which is on sale...I like both coke and pepsi! But my true love is Dr. Pepper

Posted by DPerry (Member # 7882) on :

Coke.
But Mt. Dew, which is made by Pepsi.

Thats me too, but my absolute favorite is Cheerwine-that little known regional drink that is as addictive as Coke when it still had cocaine in it. [Big Grin]

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

Cheerwine is available at my school. Its in the soda machines. Is it really that good? I've never tried it.

Posted by ArCHeR (Member # 6616) on :

When not Rootbeer, Coke.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Coke. But Dr. Pepper kicks Coke's behind. Except maybe Mexican Coke. Mmmmm, Mexican Coke with a twist of lime...

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

Good ole fashioned water . . . with a bit of lemon? Room temperature.

Berry Zinger herbal tea . . . hot.

Negra Modelo with a lime . . . cold.

*grin*

Posted by theCrowsWife (Member # 8302) on :

Well, at least you've got one soda on that list. Oh, wait, were you considering Negra Modelo a beer? To each their own, I guess.

Negra Modelo is the best of the Mexican beers, at least the ones available in the US.

The last soft drink i actually had (itš been a couple of years) and that i really like was pepsi blue. i miss it so much. but besides the special ones, i did tend to drink pepsi more. but i never really had a preference for either

And having never been south of the border, I'll take what I can get here in the states . . . *grin*

You wanted to know about a carbonated beverage?

Hmmm.

Kiwi-Lime-Grapfruit Koala Springs.

Pure delight.

Posted by theCrowsWife (Member # 8302) on :

Heh, I just couldn't resist a dig at Mexican beers. I tend to like my beer strong and flavorful, and Mexican beer is so...wimpy. Negra Modelo does have a decent flavor, though.

Kiwi-Lime-Grapefruit sounds really good. Where can I get some? [Smile]

Not a big Cola nut. I like clear drinks and tea. Occasional Root Beer. HATE Dr. Pepper.

How dare you... I have abandoned coke and now live off of Dr.Pepper exclusively... who makes that Pepsi? I guess I'm a pepsi guy then.

Bigger grocery stores should have it . . .

Posted by theCrowsWife (Member # 8302) on :

Darn, I was hoping you would say Trader Joe's or something like that. I suspect that it's only regionally available, but I'll look around. My husband had never heard of it, either, and he works in retail.

The last time I saw it was in a Fred Meyer's, if that helps . . .

I'm not allowed caffeine anymore, damnit [Frown] But, when I was:

Coke.

By a big, long margin. People would always tell me "oh, you can't tell them apart" BS. Pepsi is more sugary, and has less bite. You always know Coke.. chug it down quickly, burp and feel your nose and throat burn with the goodness. That's Coke. [Smile]

While I can't do caffeine, here's my pecking order:

Sierra Mist over 7 Up or Sprite.
Stewarts Root Beer over all other takers
SoBe Grape Grog

And of the bottled lemonade or canned, I generally prefer the Tropicana to the Minutemaid or Old Country.

Posted by Steev (Member # 6805) on :

Preferred: Diet Pepsi with Lime
Alternate: Diet Dr. Pepper

Last resort: Diet coke with Lime

Plain Diet coke is nasty. And Diet Mountain Dew is not as good as it should be.

The non-diet versions are sickly sweet and cause me to become very jittery and then I want to sleep for a long time. Not a good thing when driving or at work.

If I’m not looking for the caffeine I reach for Fresca or a Sugar free flavored soda water and in some states diet Barq’s Root Beer. In some places I’ve found that it has caffeine added.

But before the sugar problems my favorites were:
Cragmont Grapefruit
Barq’s Root Beer
Fanta Birch Beer

I used to drink a lot of soda but I got really traumatized when I found a fly in my coke and short of suing them I just kind of stopped drinking soda. However when I do I prefer fly-less coke.

Here, you could find plenty. The best brand is Elephant, of course. [Big Grin] Ginger Ale now tastes like, oh, 5 parts water to one part flavor in comparison.
