I live in seattle washington and we were apprently going for the record of most days of rain in a row(33 or something)but on sunday it didn't rain at all so we stopped at 27 days, and then on monday it fricken rained all day, and its been raining ever sence. I mean if it's gonna rain for this long we better get some kind of medel, but no, it had to stop for one day and ruin the whole thing, now its just raining for no reason(does raining have 2 n's?).
Just some random things I needed to get off my chest.
-Descoloda
P.S: Feel free to rant yourself, its a free contry(Most of the time).

Here is an interesting rant, I just joined a Human Sexuallity Psycholgy class and I am the only male student in a class filled with twenty eight other women.

Oh, and all of them are about my age (21 if your curious). Okay now I'm better. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Big Grin]

Okay whose next? [Smile]

p.s. Descolada can you send some of that rain towards New Mexico, because we're dying out here. [Smile]

Doesn't Seattle average like 150+ rain days a year? I had lived out in Bremerton and Gig Harbor for several years.

Descolada, I'm about 30 miles north of you in Marysville. It's wet here too. The ground squishes. And all our lovely top soil is draining into our neighbor's yard, something neither of us is happy about.

Sunday was lovely though, wasn't it? We spent quite a bit of time outside; got the Christmas lights down and cleaned out the garage. It was very nice, and it looks like today is going to be the same. As I look out my office window, our deck is dry -- a phenomenon I haven't seen in weeks.

Advent, I could mail you some if you like. [Big Grin]

Let me renind you of the "other side" of this forum, Books, Food, Film, and Culture, which is a great place to discuss pretty much anything that isn't about OSC.

Thanks, but no thanks jeniwren. It was nice of you to offer though. [Smile]

I would have to agree that this thread needs to cross the 'Rack.

I concur, but also add: The University of Washington (located in Seattle) has a fast facts pamphlet which states that on average Seattle has 210 cloudy days per year. Rain, I have no numbers on.

Oh man, Leah, that was something I definitely didn't need to know.

I used to live in Denver. Denver has something like 300 days of sunshine a year. I moved for love. I still think it was a good decision, but there are times I miss the big skies of the high plains.

I read the post title and thought, "Hey! He must live where I live!"

Turns out it's close enough. I live in Salem, OR, and we've had 3 inches of rain fall already this month, when we usually get a total of 1.7 for the entire month.

Bah.

Why the heck would UW want to PROMOTE that it's cloudy so much!? [Confused]

Of course, you'd have to be COMPLETELY insane to attend UW anyways, so, go fig.

GO DUCKS! [Evil]

My dad used to be a Kane County Sherriff's deputy. Way back when i was a wee little lad. All I remember is the constant rain and slugs the size of ciggerates.

I heard that Pittsburg actually has less sunshine then seattle, and that Columbus, where I live, is almost on par!

The first year I moved here it did rain every day for over a month, I think we all grew moss. The sun never shines here.

Agh, Seattle people. Somehow we Eastern Washingtonians caught your rain curse for the last month.

But Hallelujah--we got snow today!

We got snow today? There's more than one of you out there in the desert?

(Go Huskies) [Big Grin]

We are the Spokanites. We draw our water from the river (we don't have to drown in the rain). [Wink]

(Go Cougs--although technically Wazzu is in Pullman, so in that case, Go Zags) [Big Grin]

I'm sorry, but Huskies > Cougs + Zags [Big Grin]

Sorry Descolada Survivor, but Olympia DIDN'T lose a day in Sunday, so we're still going strong [Wink]

jeniwren, bestiality is legal in Washington, so it is indeed legal to "f**k a duck". *shudder*

Viva Le Oregon! we have had rain for 33 days nonstop! our fields have turned into lakes! I went kayaking on the highway! Exclamation Point! Forest Grove OR! !

Posted by jeniwren (Member # 2002) on :

Appletanks, I am sure I didn't want to know that even more than I wish I didn't know that we get over 200 days of cloudy weather a year.

And only 4 posts in a year? That's remarkable. You must have A Life. [Smile]

As Advent said, please feel free to blow that rain our way into the midwest. We are dying in dust and range fires here. Any rain appreciated.

FG

Our rain is undergoing a transformation right now into some strange white crystals... I haven't seen this phenomenon in weeks...

Oh, and a Coug could take on ten Huskies anyday and still come out to trample the big W in center field. Apple Cup Victory!

Ouch. Well, I'll...(tries to think of Spokane landmark)...

...

...I'll net you with my Riverfront Park Pavilion. I would penalize you coolness points, but Westerners don't have any to start with. [Wink]

Don't be fooled by my inactivity here. I have upwards of 5000 posts on another forum. [Smile]
