How is his name pronounced? In Shadow of the Hedgemon it says it is pronounced ah-SHEEL. But in the French manor. I'm taking French next year. How is it pronounced in English?

Do you mean in the old greek hero sense, or the evil Beans enemy sense?

In english for the evil little it is pronounced: A-shh-eel

In the greek sense its A-kill-ees

I've often wondered what Achilles might sound like when said with a Southern twang...

I guess phonetically, in English it would be Ah-chill, as it, "'Aw, chill' out, man." [Big Grin]

I recall hearing it A-kill-ees in my head for most of Ender's Shadow. Kind of like how I definately called Hermione (Harry Potter) Her-my-own until stupid Krum came along in Goblet and had to burst my pronounciation bubble. [Wink]
