Is Crystal City going to be the last Alvin Maker book, or is there another one planned? Forgive me if this was already posted.

I hope that Crystal City isn't the last- it was just getting to the good part

Nope. There's going to be at least one more.

Master Alvin. Even if it's seven hundred pages long, it will be the last one.

Famous last words...

*er-hem*
Wasn't Xenocide meant to be the last in that particular series, Herr C?

Xenocide and Children of the Mind were one big novel, split into two books. So, technically, it was the last of the Speaker series.

I really hope that the next novel doesn't get split into two. Reading the first half of a novel and then having to wait a year for the second half is frustrating enough to seriously diminish my enjoyment of the novel.

I think of the Elder Gods series by David Eddings. I finished books 1-3, only to discover that book four doesn't come out until August. I veritably wept. (Veritably... Isn't that such a fun word?)

Whereas I, who was afraid The Crystal City was the end, am doing a happy dance!!!
And re-reading the first (counts quickly on fingers) six, while I wait.

Did you ever actually do that, m_p_h, or did you just wait? There is always going and reading the source material for enjoyment.

A 700 page OSC novel would be pretty cool... they usually seem to fall under 400 pages, tops.
Do you have to kill Alvin? Really? REALLY?

i know what you mean BryanP..can't he just live?? at least make it dramatic if he has to die.
