Just finished reading Leah and Rachel and discovered that Card is contracted for three books dealing with women from the Book of Mormon. Assuming this will be the case, I'm wondering who the three women are.
My guess is Sariah, Abish, and ???
Is there an obvious third woman I am not thinking of?
I'm also wondering if the Wives of Israel book will take the place of one of these others and thus make this point moot.

As far as I can remember, the only other woman mentioned as an individual, and not part of a group, is Nephi's wife, though she is never named. She'd probably be a better candidate for a novel than Isabel, even though he'd have to make up a name. He came up with a wonderful character for her Earthfall counterpart.
Doing a book on Isabel could be interesting, but it would require a lot of assumptions about Nephite culture at the time. A pity, though. How would you like to be remembered by what your ex's father thought of you?

Hmm, could I have misread the closing pages of that book so poorly? I suppose, but I recall that at least at some point Card stated he was to write 6 books--3 on the OT, 3 on the BoM. I'll have to reread it tonight.

IIUC, the current plan is for there to be five books in the Women of Genesis series. There's the first two books, and then the last book will be published in three parts, the first of which has been published.

Yes, Scooter, there were projected to be 3 Book of Mormon books -- but not about the women. And, as Mr. PH said, 5 of those books will now all be Women of Genesis. We'll see about the 6th.

I had a great book on women in the scriptures-- from Genesis through the D&C-- and I lent it to a woman I VT'd. And then I moved to Dallas without asking for it back.
But now I'm living in the stake again. Think she'd think it was weird if I showed up at her door and asked for my book back?

Hmmm - this is an interesting question. I'd have to re-read the Book of Mormon to come up with my guess for who it would be. (Yes, I have a Book of Mormon).

It's probably still not worth it, but here goes.
6 women are mentioned by name in the BoM.
3 are in the chronological story: Sariah, Abish, Isabel.
The other 3 are brought up by Lehi, Nephi (quoting Isaiah), and King Benjamin: Eve, Sarah, and Mary, respectively.

I know it was submitted in jest, but the possibilities about a book about Isabel are fascinating. We know that Corianton repented and went back to preach. Would it be too much of a stretch to imagine Isabel repented too? I think a story about her background, interaction with Corianton & his brothers (e.g. Helaman & Shiblon resisted...). Could be a cool "what if?".

Yes, I was joking, but there very well may be a very interesting story behind her. The main obstacle I see is that, unlike the women of Genesis series, there just isn't any indication of what daily life would be like for Isabel, what cultural attitudes were towards women in general and towards harlots, repentant & otherwise, in particular. Given how little is written about Nephite society, OSC would have to create one practically from whole cloth. While he is obviously capable of doing so, I don't think he would. When you have to make up so much, why not make up everything rather than try to hang it on so sparse a skeleton.

One thing we know about the life of women in the Book of Mormon is that they weren't talked about very much. Which I think is kind of carried into the Homecoming series, how there was kind of some oppression of women going on. Not more than was probably happening in the Bible, but more than you would expect from the early Homecoming books.
Another point to consider is that the Book of Mormon was edited by, well, Mormon. Maybe he had some reason for not wanting to discuss women very much, like it had painful associations for him or something.
