I ejoyed the Alvin series so much, and I miss it so much! (the part I hate the most about a book - a good one, at least, is when it ends) I just wanted to know whether there are going to be additional books in the future.

Yes. One, atleast.

welcome, by the way.

Master Alvin? something like that. Personally I wish OSC would drop everything and write the last Alvin book, but I guess in the long run the EG movie IS more important...

*sigh*

I don't know about that.. I kind of dred the movie, since they usually wind up being crummy. I mean, not doing any justice to the book, but then the movie and the book are arleady linked, and then it kind of takes away some of the magic - you see where Im going?

And thanks for the welcome!

Hey Hadas! Welcome!!

Use the search function and find some of the older threads on the movie... I think you'll find a little bit of the same sentiment in there. ; )

Happy Posting!

The vague impression I got was that OSC is losing interest in Alvin Maker. he doesn't seem to take those books as seriously as his other ones.

but I'm not making assupmtions, i could be completely wrong about that.

I sure hope not! But I guess it's up to him, isn't it?

And thanks very much for the happy welcome!

שלום לך! Welcome to Hatrack, Hadas! [Smile]

I think we'll get the last Alvin book. Eventually. There was quite a lag between Crystal City and the previous one (about 5 years). If we get to 2008 (5 years after CC) and there is no word on volume 7, that's when I'll start to worry.

I liked Alvin, but I'm not as eager for that series. I'd like to see more, but I think it was at least decently tied off without another book. I am ACHING for the next book in the Women of Genesis series, we're just hanging out there in that one.

But they haven't, like, built the Crystal City.

but all the serious opposition that Alvin was facing is gone. and he already had the "who, where, and how" of Crystal City. it would be cool to see another book but all the strings have already been tied up. I just don't see much use of another book.

Well, not all the serious opposition. I mean, something's got to kill him, right?

I'm thinking Calvin has a seventh son. Not with the same mother, though. And he can write it to end the way he wishes Harry Potter would end.

Let's boycott OSC books until he writes Master Alvin!

(yeah, that'll work)
