I think the suite as a whole lacks unity. I feel it's a bit too disjointed and varied. Surprisingly--I like the electronic stuff more than the ethereal/impressionistic orchestra stuff, which is pretty, but not "Ender's Game" to me.

I disagree with Launchywiggin's assessment of unity. I've listened to it 4 times already and I like how it moves in and out of the orchestra to electronic. It reminds me a lot of rock operas. I feel like there is a bit of ELP influence in there. I see a lot of thematic unity as well, which really holds it together for me.
As to what is "Ender's Game", I would agree with Launchywiggin's and say that very little of it is for me too. However, when considering the comparison of my personal impressions of a novel and impressions of what I feel a musical work would be and some other persons impressions of the novel and what their impression of music expresses those impression, <*breath*> I don't expect anyone to ever agree on what is "Ender's Game" music. Despite whatever inspired it or whatever it's based on figurative or literally, I believe the piece can stand on it's own even if it were called something else.

V seems very stravinskian... actually most of this suite sounds stravinskian, but with less thematic unity or distinctive polyphony.

I'm working on doing Songmaster with my own voice. It'll take at least 3 years until I'm good enough. I did Lost Boys 3 years ago as well.

Newly recorded piano suite to compliment the Orchestral one. The Piano Suite is all the themes with they're proper titles. Also the tags point to one specific usage of each theme.
Shnabubula, you've done some great work! This is very interesting music, and I appreciate your approach to composition. There's nice hint of jazz mixed into your orchestral stylings, and it is a HUGE relief to me that you didn't go down the atonal path. Bravo! I much enjoyed these!
Orincoro, I want to hear yours when you get around to finishing it. ;-)
