I think instead of Wolfgang Petersen or Ridley Scott, they should get Joss Whedon to direct it. Ender's Game as directed by Joss Whedon, just think about it.

Well, I'll pull for Steve Zaillian in the director's chair. He adapted the screenplay and directed the film "Searching for Bobby Fischer." I think it's one of the best child prodigy movies ever made.

It's usually a scary thing when a book we love gets turned into a movie. Movies from books tend to suck, really bad, in general, but in recent years, we've seen reason to believe that it is possible to make a good movie from a book.
I'll go, no matter what, if/when this ever comes out, and honestly, as long as it's better than "V for Vendetta" or "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," I reckon that would be just fine.

Because Ang Lee has such a wonderful track record for such movies. Hulk, for instance, did so well and was so good.

Although I wouldn't mind Ridley Scott, his vision of space is a good one.
I guess I should read the book version of "V for Vendetta"...I liked the movie. Wait a tick, that was a graphic novel wasn't it?

So, here's another similar article about the movie. Pretty much the same info, except it mentions a possibility of EG on TV! What is that? A miniseries? A full series? A made for TV movie? Sounds interesting with a capability of awesomeness equal to it's capability of horrible crappiness.
Also, there's mention about a pilot episode of scifi tv show based on "post-oil America." That sounds cool. Has anyone heard rumors that would corroborate this?

I liked both of those movies. I admit The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was very different from the book. But so is every other version of that story. I thought it was charming and had moments of gut-busting humor. Plus, Marvin rocked.
Having not read the graphic novel V for Vendetta, I cannot vouch for the consistency of the story or idea presented. But I thought the movie was well done. The plot was intriguing. The build-up was very suspenseful. And the overall idea itself was cool. I think Hugo Weaving did very well at playing a masked man. And Natalie Portman did a fairly good job too. It seemed a little slow at times, but, overall, I really enjoyed it.

if that happens hopefully they could have the first few episodes have the different kids getting recruited for battleschool, with ender being the first one obviously, and having a whole episode (or two) devoted to the incident with stilson (i have no idea what his name is, sorry, been too long, but i think it was stilson or at least started with an S)
then dink and petra and stuff, and finally bean can be the last one recruited, but throughout the episodes he could be intertwined with the storyline, like they would have shots of a baby on a street corner in a run down projects type of city and stuff like that, until finally its bean's "episode" (where he gets recruited) and by that time he will have met with achilles, and carlotta will either have been or be introduced.
this could take up the entire first season, except at the end of each show the kid's go up into space in the ships (to battleschool) and then in the finale (probably bean's episode or two) it could have graff and uhhh.... the guy.... who was bean's dude.... Dapper? something like that, starts with a D.
anyways they would be slightly shadowed and talking about their plans stuff like "so the last ship has launched?" "yes, its all coming to an end soon" "we dont have much time" "yeah, we better hurry now" etc etc.
and so then for the final scene bean would close his eyes, take a deep breath...... and blast off
then in the first episode of season 2 it could have the guy in the ship come up and tlak to them about weightlessness and stuff and all that, and then they arrive at battleschool, and its like WHOAAAA.
and it goes from there, maybe have 2 seasons just deicated to battleschool life 10-15 episodes per season? after the initial take off of the 2nd season, like somewhere along the 3rd or 4th episode they could start having a battle room game each episode or at least clips from it.
ender and bean being the main characters. obviously, ender would win the camera most of the time, but occaisonally it could go to bean hopefully (im sorry, i love bean like 10 times more than ender, because hes just way cooler and it seems smarter, in my opinion, i know the series is based on ender, but i love bean D:)

Ok well the thought of the whole first season being on earth would be taking that TV show way too slowly. I'd think an episode or two would be good for that. Also, if you were having the first episode of season 2 to be in the shuttle and dimak talking about gravity, then whose story would that be? Probably Ender's, but would they show Bean's also?
Josh Whedon would be a good director. I easily agree with that. My other opinion many people might not like but what about Michael Bay? I could imagine him directing something like this, especially the battles in the battle room.

I don't think that the article means that the story of Ender's Game would be made into a TV show; the part in the IGN article in question: "However, he said there's franchise potential for Ender's in TV and videogames." Franchise potential seems to indicate the use of other parts of the series or even whole new creations, especially for video games. Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow definitely needs to be made into a movie. It would be great if other parts of the series can be made in to movies, but there might not be the support of Hollywood or if they could be made, there would be a lot cut out. Something on TV would could be closer to the novels, since there wouldn't be the running time constraints.

The only possibility of Ender's Game being a good movie is if Christopher Nolan is the director. Batman Begins is the only movie I've seen recently that has a lot of action while still having a deeper meaning. Isn't that the point of Ender's Game?
