I'm leery of starting new trilogies whose later books have not been written -- how long have we been waiting for George R.R. Martin to finish his? And who can even think of Robert Jordan's endless Wheel of Time?

OSC has finished at least one series (Homecoming) so his track record is already lightyears better than those other guys.

I sure hope OSC is making a princely sum for his Rhino articles, because I think they distract a lot of time and energy from novel production. I'm fairly sympathetic to most of the things he says in his articles, except of course the local politics goes over my head and I don't read mystery novels. Of course, maybe it's something he enjoys doing and feels is important. I guess he didn't start writing novels to make money in the first place.
