For those who haven't heard, IGN.com posted an article about the Ender's Game film putting out a casting call. Here's the exact content:
"It looks like the ball is finally rolling on Gavin Hood's book-to-film adaptation of Ender's Game. The film just released a whole mess of casting calls, including most of the major characters.
According to io9, the casting calls come from an early draft of the script written by Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. It also sounds like the screenplay itself stays pretty faithful to the original source material. Rest assured, many of the book's central themes remain intact.
The ten characters announced include Ender Wiggin, Bean, Peter Wiggin, Valentine Wiggin, Bonzo Madrid, Rose the Nose, Dink Meeker, Petra Arkanian, Alai, and Mick. Based on the spoiler-y descriptions from io9, most the characters seem to be getting a pretty devoted resemblance to their page-turner counterparts. One outstanding difference is in Ender's age, which has been upped to 10 -- older than he was in the book, but younger than what Hollywood was originally pushing for.
So far, there's been no word on a production start date, but the news of a casting call is definitely a good sign. We'll take it where we can get it. "
