I must really be ANCIENT (65). I got hooked on SF in 6th grade by Robert Heinleins "Red Planet". I have read every book he has written at least twice. The MASTERPIECE "STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND" OVER 10 TIMES. I have copies of everything he ever wrote, even posthumously. I've gone through 4 copies of SiaSL. I have formed my personal philosohy from his thoughts. I have just discovered "ENDER'S GAME. [Eek!] [Eek!] I have gotten and read all 10 of the series. I am awaitng the fifth BEAN book and Xmas book (although I found out too late it stinks) too. This series has BLOWN ME AWAY!!!!! The only thing I can compare it to, is the stories of Lazaras Long or the whole future History Series

Welcome to Hatrack! What other SF authors have you particularly liked? What did you think of Spider Robinson's attempt to match Heinlein's voice in Vairable Star?

Spider Robinson(who I thought was really RAH's son) was my #2 until I discovered Ender and OSC. Next David Gerrold-- although I won't live long enough to finish the "CHTORR" series dammit! Of course "THE RIVERWORLD SERIES" Phil Jose Farmer Next a bunch of SIGNENT and BALLETINE authors. I haven't got excited over anyone in the past 20/ 30 years Oh yeah John Varley especialy "THUNDER -Series", I never answered your question NOBODY but Spider could have done it any better.

We all love Ender, but don't discount Card's other books. The Alvin Maker series is also incredible, Treason is one of my favorites, and Pastwatch is awesome.

Don't forget Enchantment, The Lost Gate, and Magic Street (just to get a full idea of OSC's considerable breadth)!
