I dunno about magic, but I definitely loved time travel in Enchantment, which is something I usually abhor!

Miller - I totally agree. In fact, Enchantment might be the one and only book were even the very concept of time travel didn't irk me. I think it's because the way it was done, it didn't so much seem as if they were going back in time so much as into another dimension stuck at another time period.

To me, it was the combination of OSC following rules that he establishes pretty quickly, setting the time travel back to a really, really distant past so it doesn't have any direct "grandfather paradox" issues, and the fact that he's such a great writer that I was caught up in the emotions and actions of the characters (Ivan and Katerina forever!) that I didn't mind anyway. [Smile]
